Wow these weeks are flying by. We’re halfway done in Vietnam already!

Our ministry has been pretty consistent with english classes, prayer walks, and discipleship group, along with a few new opportunities such as hosting a christmas party for the CCC leaders and putting on kids christmas event with them. I’ve also had the privilege of meeting with two girls, one being a new believer as of a few weeks ago, teaching them more english and reading the Bible with them. The new believers family does not approve of her being Christian, so my hosts wife, Thu, asked me to share my testimony and encourage her of the faithfulness of the Lord. I put together Bible lessons for them, covering topics such as forgiveness and prayer, and we talk about how Jesus lived those out and how He made them possible for us through His death on the cross. This has honestly been just as encouraging for me as it is for her, and I am so thankful for this opportunity to encourage her in her faith.

One of my other favorite ministries is on Thursdays when half my team meets with three CCC students guys, and we read the Bible together. We’ve read John 14 about how Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and also Luke 10 about the good samaritan. One of the students has been a believer for only one month, and he is so curious and loves learning about the Lord. He had never read the story about the good samaritan before, and he asked, “who is considered my neighbor?” We explained that our neighbors are the people around us and that we should love everyone, even when they hurt us and don’t love us back. His face lit up as the realization sunk in and immediately applied that concept to a specific scenario in his life. It was so special being able to watch a simple story in the Bible actively touch his heart and grow his faith. It honestly puts the Bible in a new perspective and reminds me that the Word is true, living and active. No matter how many times we read a story in the Bible, the words will never lose meaning or become empty. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭

My praise for this week is getting so many opportunities to share the gospel and the truth of Jesus, and seeing that impact so many people’s lives. My prayer request is for the employees at the coffee shop just down the street, and that I can continue to build relationship with them!

Thank you for reading and for all of your support!
